Senior Engineering Manager – Badlion

Badlion is a standalone product by EFG (formally known as FACEIT or ESL) which is essentially its own gaming studio that builds its own client with enhanced performance and modifications for Minecraft. Badlion is driven by community desire with over 500,000+ users a month, supporting over 100 unique MODS. Badlion is paving the way for the ultimate gaming experience across multiple genres to provide our users with the best gaming adventures!

With its continued success and plans for further enhancements to its already amazing capabilities, we are now looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to come in and help advance our level to the next stage!

Your Team:

As the Senior Engineering Manager, you will be looking after a team of highly technical professionals who focus on a variety of different areas within the software development life cycle. This will include a mix of Backend and Frontend Developers, Infrastructure Specialists, and Game Developers.

Your role would be to make sure we have the right processes and frameworks in place that enable our team to continue delivering amazing new features and mods to our Badlion product. You will also be at the helm of making sure everyone in the team feels fully supported and committed to providing our community with the best gaming experience possible.


  • You will currently be working as an Engineering Manager, looking after a team of Software Engineers or Developers
  • The ability to translate requirements into technical terms should come as second nature to you
  • We really need you to have a good understanding of modern technologies, relating to both frontend and backend such as; GoLang, Java, React, Redux, AWS, Kubernetes etc
  • Experience working within a microservices environment would really get us excited!
  • Though we don’t expect you to do any hands on coding, we would need you to be able to oversee code reviews, and implement the right processes, assurances and procedures to the SDLC
  • You will have an analytical approach to solving problem, and love using data to make decisions
  • We all work in Agile here – so a mix of Kanban and Scrum knowledge would be great!
